[ABOUT US]
WHAT IS TWW?
The dictionary defines “wanderer” as someone who roams around aimlessly with no origin or goal in mind. A “wanderer” by The Weekly Wanderer’s definition is a traveler who goes overseas with a self-prepared itinerary, however, once there, he becomes a part of his surroundings. Wherever he wanders, he’s a victim to his senses—taking in the culture, the people, the language, the environment. A wanderer wants to see the place in its raw environment—the beauty and the quirky imperfections. A wanderer braves the dangers knowing the experience will only shape him into a more experienced traveler.
A wanderer knows he might visit a country only once, so it’s imperative to catch as many sights, sounds, tastes, touches and smells as possible. What drives him is the need to gain experience from the world—that extra perspective that one can gain while traveling without tours or vacations.
CAPTURING THE MOMENT
Authentic euphoric experiences are moments—even seconds—taken in by the five senses that become frozen memories in time that can’t be captured on a postcard. We as wanderers wish to capture the moment on video, in photos, or in blogs to share with family, friends, co-workers or the stranger at the corner store. That is part of what The Weekly Wanderer is all about—giving you the chance to share that moment with others when it happens.
