Backpacking In Europe

Wandering on the cheap

My first backpacking experience was a whirlwind. My friend Elena had been studying in Newcastle, England for the year and had been begging everyone to come visit her. I had the time in April between the end of my classes and exams, but I didn’t have any money. Until I received a bursary from my university, $750! Two days later I was at Heathrow, trying to make it to Kings Cross Station to catch a train to Newcastle. The next day we flew to Ireland, for two days in Belfast, two days in Dublin, and then two days in Edinburgh, Scotland, which has become my favorite city. We were always on the go, but it was on of the best trip I’ve been on. And I aced my exams! All I can say is take advantage of every opportunity to travel that you can. IT!
