This Valentine’s Day, I have a surprise for my girl. Since February 22nd will mark our one-year anniversary, I’ve planned a weekend away for the two of us.
At first, I looked at places up north, but then I thought, ‘Where better to spend a romantic weekend than the Honeymoon Capital of the World?’ She did once say she wanted to see Niagara Falls in the winter. I’ve heard it’s beautiful, especially when the falls are lit up at night.
I looked on the Internet for deals on weekend packages but was overwhelmed with choices—I didn’t know where to start. So I went into the CAA (Canadian Automobile Association) office in person to see what they recommended. They were exceedingly helpful. Turns out they have all kinds of Valentine’s packages that include breakfast and dinner. Some even come with wine and chocolate.
I booked the romance package for two nights with an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet and dinner for two at one of three restaurants. I’m going all out with red roses and Hershey’s Kisses. I can’t wait to spoil her.
My girlfriend has no idea what I have planned, only that we’re going away for the weekend. I’m looking forward to spending time with her away from home. Hope it’ll be only the first of many anniversaries to come.
